By holding and stroking a badminton racket correctly, a player can utilize his/her maximum strengths. Additionally, holding a racket correctly can help minimize elbow and shoulder injuries in the future. Therefore, it is important to learn how to hold a badminton racket the correct way.

Besides learning how to hold a racket correctly, it is just as important to practice the right footworks. Footworks can help a player get to one section of a court to the next section in the least amount of time. Footworks also help a player produce more power shots with the least amount of effort (with holding racket properly). Footworks also contribute to less knee and ankle injuries for a person. Remember the importance of safety while enjoying playing badminton.

Lastly, mastering singles, doubles, and mixed doubles serves, keeping scores, and judging lines are just as important for basic badminton playing.

Overall, one can enjoy playing badminton correctly after taking Digi Sports' Basic Badminton Training sessions.

Practice feathered shuttlecocks will be provided. Please use comfortable shoes and bring your own racket for our training OR you can rent a racket for $5. Don't hesitate to call or visit us if you would like more information before signing up.

Introduction to Parents:

The badminton training is upon us and we look forward to a great time ahead! Each year, we start out with goals, hopes, and dreams to come. With each training, we meet many of these goals, and fulfill many of the hopes and dreams we have. At times, we are left with disappointments, frustrations, and—at times—there is even finger-pointing.

40 years from now, it won't matter who missed a shuttlecock, whose smash was weak, who hit the shuttlecock out of bounds, or how many wins or losses your badminton team had. But the world will be a better place if you made a difference in a little child's life.

Have a wonderful time playing badminton!

Badminton Training Mission:

Digi Sports is here to serve our fellow badminton associates and communities. Digi Sports saw a lack of badminton training and decided to satisfy the people who wanted training. Digi Sports training will help bridge the gap and get those who always wonder about badminton to try out the sport. Digi Sports will be serving different ethnicities of all ages and getting the whole community involved in being active. We have 9 locations you can choose from to start training. Digi Sports has coaches who are ready to help out, but we're looking for additional coaches to help expand our operation more efficiently. It's bringing value to our badminton associates.

—To teach trainees the importance of:

  • Hard work and dedication
  • Teamwork
  • Respect for authority
  • Accepting constructive criticism
  • Accepting responsibilities for inappropriate behavior

—To teach the fundamentals of badminton to each player registered

—To protect trainees from the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other illegal activities

—To have all managers/coaches willing to follow the objectives given to them by their colleagues

—Maintain or enhance the self-esteem of our trainees

—To treat all players, adults, and badminton officials with respect

—If something can be done better, volunteer! Nothing can influence trainees or ours more than a commitment of time and unselfish giving

When we first started, we never knew it would bring this much level of excitement. Coming from a badminton background, we first started playing badminton with wooden rackets at the age of 6 years old! We continued to play throughout middle school and high school. After graduating from high school, we went to college for a degree in Communications while helping part-time at Digi Sports. After graduating with a Communications degree, we are now full-time representatives at Digi Sports. We saw a lack in badminton training, so, we collaborated with the badminton industry, and Digi Sports training was formed. In the near future, we hope to expand to a bigger location, centralized for badminton associates here in San Diego County.
