Our shop is in Grantville, serving players from Mission Valley, Normal Heights, Tierrasanta, Del Cerro, Hillcrest and North Park.

We string both badminton and tennis rackets, and can recommend a string and tension for your skill level, play style and comfort.

Options

Badminton. Higher tensions and thinner strings call for precision. We keep tension consistent for control and power, support the frame properly, and set up strings for your play style (power or control).

Tennis. Fresh strings improve control, spin and feel, and reduce vibration and arm strain. We offer custom tension recommendations for singles, doubles and competitive play.

Tension and pre-stretch. Choose your tension above, with an optional 5% or 10% pre-stretch.

What to expect

Book online and pick a drop-off date and time. We contact you to confirm, then you bring your racket to our Grantville shop.

How long it takes. Allow up to 45 minutes for a badminton racket and up to 1 hour for a tennis racket.

Grommets. Grommets are the small plastic sleeves that line each string hole and keep the string from rubbing against the frame. When they are worn or cracked, the string can cut against the edge of the frame and break early. Where needed, we turn or replace old grommets so your new strings last longer. This can add a little time to the job.

Same-day service. Drop off your racket and pick it up the same day.

Good to know

How often should you restring? A common rule of thumb:

  • Recreational players: every 3 to 6 months
  • League players: every 1 to 3 months
  • Frequent or competitive players: as often as monthly

If your strings feel loose, dead or uncomfortable, it's time for a restring.
